Position: Bridge Inspection Team Leader - South Carolina HDR is looking for a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our SC Transportation Team. The role involves performing local and national bridge and structural inspections, requiring familiarity with various inspection equipment, methods, and processes. Responsibilities include conducting NBIS inspections, writing reports, performing mathematical calculations, and supervising inspection teams. Occasional office work related to engineering design, CADD, or analysis may be required. Daily tasks include:
Leading bridge inspections, developing reports, and performing load rating calculations.
Traveling for inspections within the US, including overnight stays.
Performing physical inspections of various structures, with demands such as ladder use, boat maneuvering, long-distance driving, confined spaces, and working at heights or night.
Working independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership and communication skills.
Exposing to environmental hazards like extreme temperatures, water, wildlife, and other natural elements.
Performing other duties as needed.
Pre-employment drug testing required.
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering (preferred)
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
At least 5 years of bridge/structural inspection and design experience (preferred)
Training certifications such as NHI 130055, 130053, 130078 (preferred)
Mobile Elevating Working Platform (MEWP) Operator Certification (preferred)
FAA Part 107 UAS Pilot certification with inspection experience (preferred)
Experience with asset management software (preferred)
Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years' experience
Proficiency in MS Office
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Successful passing of drug screening prior to employment and ongoing testing
