Join our team as an experienced NBIS certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader. In this role, you’ll partner with the Project Manager to deliver accurate, high-quality inspection and reporting services. While your primary focus will be projects in North Carolina and South Carolina, you’ll also have the opportunity to support new clients as we expand across the Southeast. What You Will Do

Perform safety inspections of assigned structures, prepare/review reports to ensure all client requirements are met. Support the Project Manager in the daily operations of NBIS Inspection contracts, including scheduling, logistics, and required monthly client notifications. Mentor and develop less experienced staff by providing instruction, assigning and reviewing work, coaching, training, and guiding them in efficient inspection practices. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Opportunity to assume Program Manager roles as experience allows. Opportunity to perform other design tasks as qualifications allow. Minimum Requirements

A strong work ethic with the ability to self-motivate, work independently, and remain highly efficient while working remotely. NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification Experience performing NBIS bridge inspections Thorough knowledge of bridge inspection methods, procedures, and reporting requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited program preferred Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, including multi-week assignments as needed Physical Ability

Traverse steep embankments, work within confined spaces and at height Work in extreme weather conditions Lift and carry heavy loads such as ladders across uneven terrain Training And Certifications

Successful completion of National Highway Institute (NHI) courses: 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers 130053 Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (as required to remain current) Additional coursework (preferred or willingness to obtain): 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges, 130087 Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures, 135047 Stream Stability and Scour at Highway Bridges for Bridge Inspectors Experience with non-destructive testing methods (preferred) Preferred Qualifications

Current approval by NCDOT and/or SCDOT as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader (highly preferred) Experience with NCDOT WIGINS software Experience with AASHTOWare BrM (Bridge Management) software Why Choose ms consultants?
