Job Title: Manager Location: RWJUH Hamilton Hospital, One Hamilton Health Place, Hamilton, NJ 08619 Department: Cancer Center Req #: 0000214132 Status: Salaried Shift: Day Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Reporting directly to the Administrative Director of the Cancer Center at Hamilton, the primary purpose of the manager is to provide overall administrative and operational direction and oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of Cancer Center. Qualifications
Required: Bachelors degree in a health care related field Minimum five years of experience in a medical office/clinic setting Minimum three years of supervisory or management experience; experience in oncology is a plus Minimum three years revenue cycle experience including insurances, authorizations, and benefit coordination Strong computer skills Preferred: Masters degree in health care related field is preferred Essential Functions
Oversees the day to day activities of all clinic/ practice-based support staff including patient access representatives, certified medical assistants, surgical scheduling for designated disease site teams, and revenue cycle team members Establishes schedules, task assignments and allocation of manpower, space and equipment to ensure conformance with departmental commitments Responsible for the efficient and accurate registration process for patients of the units with complete demographic and financial data as defined by Patient Access Manages and oversees the day-to-day duties of revenue cycle which includes coordinating work duties and schedules to meet daily performance and operational requirements Manages referrals, authorizations, charges, collection of copay and daily cash deposits, denials/rejections, appeals, audits, charge corrections, while working closely with all related services to identify best practice outcomes Oversight of insurance verification and authorization process to eliminate denials for both hospital and physician Troubleshoots billing problems, investigating root cause to avoid further billing problems Understands and adheres to local, state, federal, RWJBH Corporate Compliance, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and other customers policies, and health system guidelines Interview, orient, train and develop staff as well as maintain fair and accurate HR documentation along with department performance reports to leadership and HR Fosters collaborative relationships and facilitates continuous process improvement efforts with multiple counterparts including clinicians, staff, and peers across the organization Oversees the coordination of provider templates and scheduling activities in each practice/clinic site to ensure that the highest standards of customer service are maintained Ensures effective scheduling of clinic and treatment visits (clinic, infusion, radiation oncology, and ancillary tests) for most efficient patient flow and best utilization of space and physician time Other
