What We're Looking For: As a key member of our Indianapolis team, you will work on challenging projects and collaborate with top experts in the state. This opportunity entails managing assigned project(s) through their full lifecycle, including developing the scope and technical sections of proposal and procurement documents, participating in contract negotiations, and overseeing the delivery of the project plan to achieve HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: on-time, on-budget, quality, and client satisfaction on every project. The role proactively manages the budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications in support of project objectives. It involves high-level technical tasks while coordinating design-related specifications, calculations, reports, and plans. The Sr Project Manager – Engineering typically manages multi-disciplinary project teams for one or more mini-mega ($1M to less than $5M), mega ($5M to less than $25M), or may lead as a key discipline lead on a larger project. What You’ll Do
Develop the project scope and fee quotation and assist in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA). Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Lead client contract scoping and negotiations. Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects. Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Lead the development and execution of the project management plan. Supervise and mentor the team toward overall project objectives. Oversee project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, succession planning, and reporting. Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to support business development, build client relationships, and pursue mega and super-mega projects in line with HNTB’s Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Prepare proposal and presentation materials and lead proposal development and interview presentations. May be responsible for recruitment, hiring, development, retention, and succession planning for staff. Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience 4 years of successful management of engineering projects What You’ll Bring
Winning, contracting, and delivering 4for4 on multi-disciplinary or large/complex projects, with risk and change management handled independently. Experience leading large teams inside and outside of the organization, including sub-consultants. Proficiency with system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver complex projects. Experience leading Sophisticated processes as applicable to the project. Serving as the lead interface with the client. Ability to deploy talent to other projects and develop successors to work with the same client on other work. What We Prefer
Master’s degree in Engineering 15 years relevant experience Professional Engineer (PE) certification American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification Project Management Professional (PMP) Additional Information
