Overview
Senior Water Resources Project Manager at HNTB – Indianapolis, IN. This is a leadership role within the Water Resources practice, focused on managing projects from scope through delivery and ensuring quality, on-time, and on-budget results for clients.
Responsibilities
Develop project scope and fee quotation; assist in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Lead client contract scoping and negotiations.
Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specifications, and production for assigned projects.
Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Lead the development and execution of the project management plan. Supervise and mentor the team to achieve project objectives.
Responsible for/oversees project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; develop plans for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for mega and super mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Work with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Lead proposal development and interview presentations for strategic, mini-mega or mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
May be responsible for recruitment, hiring, development and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience
4 years of successful management of engineering projects

Leading large teams inside and outside of HNTB using sub-consultants.

Serving as the lead interface with the client.
Deploying talent to other projects and developing successors to work with same client on other work.
What We Prefer
Master’s degree in Engineering
15 years relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
Project Management Professional (PMP)
