We’re looking for a Transmission Planning Project Manager who brings a strong mix of technical knowledge and leadership capability. This is a high‑impact role for someone passionate about solving complex power system problems, developing teams, and working directly with clients on critical planning studies and system improvements. What You’ll Do

Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects, from business development through execution.

Manage multidisciplinary teams, develop scope and fee structures, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain strong client relationships.

Mentor and grow talent within the team.

Business Development: cultivate and grow client relationships, identify and pursue new sales opportunities, lead proposal development, and set critical project objectives with clients.

Project Execution: manage the full lifecycle of transmission planning projects, lead risk assessment processes, coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, and communicate project status, risks, and costs to stakeholders and executive leadership.

Leadership & Mentorship: train and mentor junior staff, champion internal initiatives that promote team growth and technical excellence, and serve as a go‑to technical expert in transmission system planning and evaluation.

Technical Responsibilities: perform advanced transmission planning studies (steady‑state, transient stability, short circuit, voltage analysis, production costing), apply NERC, FERC, and regional policies, and utilize tools such as PSS®E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP, and Promod to perform complex power system modeling and analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, computer science, or a related field from an accredited program and 5 years of related professional experience.

Knowledge in project management, techniques, and procedures.

Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.

Experience leading technical aspects of consulting engagements in regards to power systems, distribution planning, and grid modernization.

Experience on consulting projects, client operations, or executing program management within the critical infrastructure industry.

Understanding of general business and financial principles.

Experience communicating across business segments to understand project objectives.

Compensation $140,000.00-375,000.00 Yearly
