What You’ll Do We're looking for a Transmission Planning Project Manager who brings a strong mix of technical knowledge and leadership capability. This is a high‑impact role for someone passionate about solving complex power system problems, developing teams, and working directly with clients on critical planning studies and system improvements.
Responsibilities
Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects, from business development through execution.
Manage multidisciplinary teams, develop scope and fee structures, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain strong client relationships.
Mentor and resource growing talent within the team.
Business Development: Cultivate and grow client relationships, identify new sales opportunities, lead proposal development, set project objectives, and lead contract negotiations.
Project Execution: Lead risk assessment processes, coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, and communicate project status and risks.
Leadership & Mentorship: Train and mentor junior staff, champion internal initiatives, and serve as a technical expert in transmission system planning and evaluation.
Technical Responsibilities: Perform and lead advanced transmission planning studies, apply and interpret regulatory standards, utilize tools such as PSS®E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP, and Promod, and resolve technical challenges.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, computer science or related field and 5+ years of related professional experience.
Knowledge of project‑management techniques and procedures.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience leading technical aspects of consulting engagements in power systems, distribution planning, or grid modernization.
Experience in consulting projects, client operations, or program management within the critical infrastructure industry.
Understanding of general business and financial principles.
Experience communicating across business segments to understand project objectives.
Compensation $145,000.00–375,000.00 Yearly. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
