Assistant Director for Transfer and Adult Students
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UNC Greensboro is seeking an Assistant Director for Transfer and Adult Students. The primary purpose of this position is recruitment with an emphasis on transfer and adult students. Position Summary:
This position will recruit and cultivate prospects, applicants, and admitted students through direct participation in a variety of activities, articulate admissions procedures and requirements to prospective students, parents, and counselors, evaluate credentials, and make independent decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission to UNCG. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum one year of relevant experience in college admissions recruitment with a focus on undergraduate transfer and adult admissions recruitment. Strong written and presentation skills, impeccable follow-through, working well independently while also working amicably with team members. Demonstrated computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to make independent decisions when interpreting policy and to make research-based decisions regarding the potential for success of specific recruitment initiatives. Valid driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree 2-3 years previous experience in admissions, particularly working with community college students. Preferred experience in AdmissionPros, Slate, Banner, or other comparable system software. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment: Recruiting and cultivating prospects, applicants, and admitted students through direct participation in a variety of activities. Counseling: Providing admitted students information on completing the enrollment process and serving as a referral to assist students on and off campus as needed. Admissions Decisions: Articulate admissions procedures and requirements to prospective students, parents, and counselors, evaluate credentials, and make independent decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission. Working Conditions:
The position requires traveling extensively 7-9 weeks during the fall, and 5-6 weeks during the spring, and working inside and outside. The position also requires hand movement-repetitive motions, reading, writing, hearing, talking, standing, sitting, walking, and lifting 0-30 lbs.
