Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is recruitment with an emphasis on transfer and adult students. This position will recruit and cultivate prospects, applicants, and admitted students through direct participation in a variety of activities, articulate admissions procedures and requirements to prospective students, parents, and counselors, evaluate credentials, and make independent decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission to UNCG, and positively affect admitted students’ decisions to matriculate to UNCG. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum one year of relevant experience in college admissions recruitment with a focus on undergraduate transfer and adult admissions recruitment. Strong written and presentation skills, impeccable follow-through, working well independently while also working amicably with team members. Demonstrated computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to make independent decisions when interpreting policy and to make research-based decisions regarding the potential for success of specific recruitment initiatives. Valid driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree 2-3 years previous experience in admissions, particularly working with community college students. Preferred experience in AdmissionPros, Slate, Banner, or other comparable system software. Key Responsibilities
Recruitment: Recruiting and cultivating prospects, applicants, and admitted students through direct participation in a variety of activities. Counseling: Providing admitted students information on completing the enrollment process and serving as a referral to assist students on and off campus as needed. Admissions Decisions: Articulate admissions procedures and requirements to prospective students, parents, and counselors, evaluate credentials, and make independent decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission. Essential Tasks
Visiting individual high schools and community colleges. Attending college job fairs. Sponsoring special recruitment events and open house programs. Sending email, writing letters, and placing calls to students. Executing and managing a geographic territory. Traveling extensively 7-9 weeks during the fall, and 5-6 weeks during the spring. Providing support in planning and executing targeted recruitment initiatives to increase UNCG’s enrollment. Speaking publicly to audiences of up to 2,500 people. Being a campus tour presenter on a regular basis. UNCG Information
