Job Description:
Installation - Provide technical consultation and assistance to on-site personnel or contractors during equipment installation.
Startup - Conduct customer pre-consultation, prepare site readiness, monitor startup processes, and assist and train personnel.
Equipment Maintenance - Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation.
Repairs - Repair machines and systems, including rebuilds as necessary.
Troubleshooting - Identify causes of operating errors and implement corrective actions.
Equipment Selection - Determine the correct tools and equipment needed for each job.
Record Activity - Complete service reports, record repairs, warranty, and maintenance activities accurately.
Travel up to 80% throughout North America.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment.
Provide installation expertise at customer sites and assist with pre-installation preparations.
Read and review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other documentation for startup or service.
Train customer personnel on proper operation of equipment according to CV-Tek/RapidPak standards.
Build professional customer relationships through solution-oriented communication and support, both on-site and via telephone.
Collaborate with engineering, project management, spare parts, and management teams to resolve escalated issues.
Provide timely written service and expense reports to the Manager of Field Service & Operations, including all documentation of activities.
Properly document, label, and return defective parts from repairs.
Make technical recommendations to maintenance technicians and plant operators.
Coordinate with the Manager of Field Service and service coordinator to ensure work is completed on time and in order.
Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures, maintaining safe habits and reporting safety concerns.
Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are safe, secure, and calibrated per CV-Tek/RapidPak standards.
Assist in manufacturing or engineering projects, including customer projects, unit refurbishment, or replacements.
Support parts department with recommendations for spare and wear parts.
Provide technical support to other Field Service Specialists.
Work overtime as needed, including weekdays and weekends.
Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a valid passport for training and customer site visits worldwide.
Use computers and smartphones for reports, data entry, and applications related to the job.
Maintain current inoculations as required for safety.
Present a clean and professional appearance when working with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent preferred.
2-3 years of related experience or equivalent education, with attention to detail.
Experience in Packaging Equipment is desirable but not required.
Hands-on electro-mechanical experience, pneumatics, AC/DC motor control, PLCs, VFDs.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and think critically.
