Reliability Engineer, Level II

Akima Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) supports the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas. AIS employees work under day-to-day direction from Y-12 staff while benefiting from AIS pay, benefits, and employment management. Responsibilities
Defines and provides implementation support for reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Provides reliability-based technical support to Production, Operations, Infrastructure Management and Craft personnel. Gathers, reviews, and analyzes RAMI (reliability, availability, maintainability, inspect ability) data for facility or equipment. Reviews technical documents related to reliability, accessibility, maintainability, or inspectability features of systems, equipment, and facilities (manuals, datasheets, technical basis documentation). Leads integration of project and plant RAMI deliverables. Develops proactive maintenance strategies for structures, systems, and components. Identifies equipment failure modes and conducts root cause analysis. Performs trend analysis of structures, systems, and components. Defines, develops, implements, revises, and monitors Asset Management Plans for structures, systems, and components. Implements condition-based, predictive, and non-destructive testing methodologies to identify reliability problems before failures occur. Completes and presents RAMI and Reliability Centered Maintenance analyses, including labor distributions, critical spares identification, proactive asset management plans, failure rates, MTBF, MTTR, and life-cycle cost analysis. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science from an ABET-accredited program. Must meet DOE O 426.2 requirements (Baccalaureate in Engineering/Related Science). 5+ years of relevant experience and 1 year of nuclear experience or a DOE-approved alternative; DOE 426.2 experience can be satisfied after employment. Newly hired personnel may not perform duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities until cleared. Preferred Qualifications
BS in engineering/physical science with 5+ years of Reliability Engineering experience or MS with 2+ years of Reliability Engineering experience. Ability to work independently and in a team; strong interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to present information clearly. Ability to resolve complex issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance and maintain a DOE workplace clearance (WSAP designation may apply). Pre-employment drug screen and job-related medical examinations may be required.
