Overview
Cuyana is looking for a full-time leader to oversee operations at our Fulfillment Center in West Oakland. This role will report to the CEO and manage all aspects of warehouse operations — including QC, logistics, returns, personalization, and inventory control — to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient order fulfillment across channels. The Distribution Center Manager will lead a team of 15-20 employees (including two supervisors), drive operational excellence, and be accountable for warehouse budget performance, vendor relationships, and process improvement initiatives. Schedule: Onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility for weekends and extended hours during peak season (Oct–Dec). Responsibilities Lead and scale warehouse operations: inbound, outbound, returns, personalization, QC, and inventory control. Ensure timely processing and shipment of all orders, including monogrammed items and store fulfillment. Oversee inventory accuracy: manage cycle counts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain stock integrity across locations. Track incoming factory deliveries and provide weekly reporting for product launches, replenishment, and out-of-stock recovery. Own warehouse budget: manage landed/shipping costs, generate monthly cost forecasts, and track against plan. Build and manage vendor/carrier relationships, including FedEx/UPS contract negotiation and competitive analysis. Partner with cross-functional teams (retail, merchandising, omnichannel) to support store allocation, special projects, and process changes. Drive operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and accuracy. Create and manage facility operations plans for peak season, ensuring capacity and staffing needs are met. Lead, motivate, develop team; ensure safety, reliability, and high team engagement. *Responsibilities may change based on business needs Requirements 5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment center operations, with at least 3 years managing teams of 10+ employees. Proven experience managing a facility budget and negotiating contracts with carriers and vendors. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with inventory management systems, ERP, WMS, and forecasting tools — Netsuite experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to set and track KPIs, drive process improvements, and manage change. Excellent communication, leadership, and people-development skills. Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods a plus. Compensation and Benefits Compensation: $100,000-110,000 exempt, commensurate with experience.
