Overview
AVP Actuarial Product Owner sought to drive the vision and strategic direction of digital actuarial products at our global P&C insurance client. This is a DIRECT HIRE role to be located onsite in either NJ, NYC or CT location. Offering base plus bonus and benefits.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage actuarial product teams responsible for developing and enhancing digital actuarial products and platforms, aligning with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (business leaders, end users, IT teams) to gather requirements, prioritize features, and deliver solutions that improve efficiency and solve actuarial business problems.
Define and communicate the product roadmap for actuarial IT products; identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement to support business growth and competitive advantage.
Own and manage the product backlog; facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure clear user stories and acceptance criteria consistent with Scrum or Agile methodologies.
Oversee testing, user acceptance, and deployment; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and data analytics to inform product decisions and validate value delivered by actuarial products.
Support regulatory filings and rate proposal activities related to actuarial products.
Drive operational excellence by improving tools, processes, and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy in actuarial product development and delivery.
Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders; manage expectations and facilitate decision-making.
Champion change and innovation within the actuarial product domain.
Qualifications / Requirements
In-depth domain knowledge of actuarial pricing and reserving, including principle-based reserving (PBR) and its applications in insurance.
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Business, or related field; plus extensive experience in product development.
Minimum 5 years in product management roles with a strong background in insurance and actuarial work (pricing and reserving).
At least 5 years of leadership experience guiding teams in complex projects with a focus on financial stability and regulatory compliance.
