The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the UC Irvine School of Medicine was established in 1967 and has grown into a nationally-recognized academic department that cares for the diverse patient population of Orange County, CA, the sixth most populous county in the US. The position of Physician Assistant (PA) in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, Division of Head & Neck Oncologic & Reconstructive surgery, requires a highly competent, team-oriented individual who will be a critical member of our inpatient hospital service. Under the supervision of our head & neck oncologic surgeons, the Physician Assistant will participate in the comprehensive care of patients in the inpatient setting with occasional ambulatory activity to assist in providing multi-disciplinary care coordination, patient care and education, surgical procedures, and communication with patient families and referring physicians. Required qualifications include: Ability and potential to develop expertise in clinical care related to the treatment of head & neck cancer Familiarity with post-surgical monitoring of complex reconstructive patients Previous experience attending or contributing to tumor boards or multidisciplinary planning conferences Licensure through the California Physician Assistant Board of the Medical Board of California as a physician assistant Current BLS certification and ACLS certification National board certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) at the time of initial appointment The University of California is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
