This position offers an opportunity for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support elementary students in an educational setting. The role is a contracted assignment with an immediate start due to a sudden leave, with an uncertain return date that may range from a few weeks to the remainder of the school year. Located in Independence, MO, the position involves working within a collaborative team to provide speech and language services. Key Responsibilities Provide speech and language therapy to a caseload of approximately 50 students. Collaborate with school staff, students, and families to develop individualized treatment plans. Utilize evidence-based techniques to address communication disorders. Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports. Work alongside a part-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) to maximize therapy effectiveness. Qualifications And Experience Valid state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting. Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the students and school. Work Schedule And Environment Staff hours are from 7:45 AM to 3:35 PM. Position is based in an elementary school environment. Contract duration corresponds with the current school year with open availability for either short-term or extended coverage.
