Overview

Medical Technologist - Full Time Third Shift Medical Technologists are professional health caregivers who constantly seek performance improvement in all areas of Laboratory analysis. The Medical Technologist will interact and service all age groups including neonatal, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. They must be proficient in phlebotomy for the groups (if applicable). All technicians and technologists are generalists and must be able to perform automated and manual testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Serology. They must have the ability to perform instrument maintenance and be competent to interpret calibrations and QC. They must be able to prioritize work and maintain a professional demeanor under stress.

Responsibilities

Perform automated and manual testing across Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Serology.

Perform instrument maintenance and interpret calibrations and quality control (QC).

Provide phlebotomy services for applicable patient groups.

Prioritize workload and maintain professional demeanor under stress.

Interact with patients and service all age groups (neonatal to geriatric).

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Note: Alternative degrees in science and U.S. military laboratory training can be accepted if CLIA alternative education requirements are met. Transcripts required with application.

West Virginia DHHR Clinical Laboratory Practitioner License, if applicable.

Primary Source Verification is required.

Demonstrated knowledge/competence in serving patients of all ages (neonate to geriatric).

Knowledge of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) patient safety initiatives and applying them to patient care.

Attention to detail, quality, and productivity; ability to prioritize work and respond to professional demands.

Professional communication (verbal and written) under stress; respectful interaction with patients, physicians, and staff.
