Medical Technologist (MT) - Part Time Third Shift

at Valley Health. Medical Technologists are professional health caregivers who constantly seek performance improvement in all areas of Laboratory analysis. The Medical Technologist II will service all age groups including neonatal, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. They must be proficient in phlebotomy for the groups (if applicable). All technicians and technologists are generalists and must be able to perform automated and manual testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Serology. They must have the ability to perform instrument maintenance and be competent to interpret calibrations and QC. They must be able to prioritize work and maintain a professional demeanor under stress. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Note: Alternative degrees in science and U.S. military laboratory training can be accepted if CLIA education requirements are met. Transcripts required with application. Experience

18 months of hospital laboratory experience required OR six months in a full-time equivalent general Medical Technology position within a Valley Health facility. Certification & Licensure

West Virginia DHHR Clinical Laboratory Practitioner License, if applicable. MT/CLS/MLS certification (ASCP, NCA, AMT, HHS (HEW)) or State licensure required. Qualifications

Primary Source Verification is required. Demonstrates knowledge/competence in service to patients of all ages. Applies Det Norske Veritas (DNV) patient safety initiatives to all aspects of patient care. Ability to consistently pay attention to detail while maintaining quality and productivity. Ability to prioritize work and manage professional demands. Professional demeanor and communication, both verbal and written, when under stress.
