Medical Lab Tech/Medical Lab Scientist - Manitowoc and Sheboygan - Full Time Location: Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States Description
This position will work full time at 32 hours per week at our Manitowoc and Sheboygan locations. What you will do
Collect, process, and correctly label specimens such as but not limited to blood, urine, and tissue for analysis. Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, immunology, urinalysis and chemistry. Ensure accurate test results by following quality control protocols. Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning. Troubleshoot any technical issues with equipment and perform routine maintenance. Education Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Associate's program OR Medical Laboratory Science Bachelor's program Required Skills and Abilities
Possess effective written and verbal communication. Knowledge of current medical terminology and laboratory equipment/care of equipment. Must follow written protocols, utilizing specific laboratory training to perform laboratory testing. Must be able to interpret and analyze numerical data in relation to known patient information and testing methodology. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Fosters work and patient/customer relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors. Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands. Possess skills to effectively problem solve. Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy levels. Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone and office equipment. Licenses and Certifications
This candidate must possess either the qualifications of a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist. Medical Laboratory Technician: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technician (AMT) within 1 year Required Medical Laboratory Scientist: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist through ASCP OR AMT within 1 year Required Physical Demands
