The Department of Pediatrics and North Carolina Children’s Hospital has an open rank, full‑time faculty position for a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician (DBP) to work in the growing Development, Behavior and Learning Program. The program provides outpatient services through interprofessional care delivered by DBP, psychology, social work, nursing and includes assessment and ongoing care for children with or at risk for developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, genetic conditions and related disorders. Responsibilities
Assessment and ongoing care for children with developmental disabilities and at risk for developmental disabilities, including medication management. Participation in resident didactics, shadowing and supervision. Collaboration with UNC’s Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities, Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Site and UNC’s TEACCH program. Contribution to training and education of pediatric residents and other learners; development of future DBP fellowship. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Board certified or eligible in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Completed pediatric residency and either completed fellowship training in DBP or in the process of successfully completing fellowship training in DBP. Excellent communication skills with patients, families, colleagues and staff. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
