Manager, Nursing and Patient Care Services - Acute Care
Sentara is currently hiring a Manager of Nursing and Patient Care Services to work at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital located in Virginia Beach. This leader will manage the SPAH Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and serve as the liaison for the DaVita Renal Dialysis Department. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of one or more clinical areas and manage patient care services staff. Ensure excellent patient safety, quality outcomes and extraordinary patient / family experience. Interview, hire, develop and retain staff with the goal of building a highly reliable team. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills to achieve unit and corporate goals. Assist in the development and monitoring of unit budget, coordinate purchasing and payroll processes, and serve as a clinical resource to team members. Qualifications
BSN from an accredited school; graduate degree preferred. Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse. One year of formal management experience; two years’ experience in a support leadership RN position (e.g., Unit Coordinator, Team Lead) may be accepted in lieu of one-year formal management experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. Virginia or Compact Multi‑State License in good standing. Demonstrates knowledge, skills and abilities related to department operations, systems management, HR management, patient safety, quality outcomes and customer service. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate management and leadership skills. Benefits
