Virginia Beach, VA Department/Position Overview
The Supervisor, Nursing and Patient Care Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the healthcare facility during their shift, ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and staff efficiency. This position serves as the primary liaison between departments, providing leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers. The Supervisor is also tasked with coordinating patient flow, managing staffing levels, responding to emergencies, and addressing any operational issues that may arise throughout their shift. The Supervisor, Nursing Patient Care Services is responsible and accountable for administratively managing the hospital as the representative for the administrator on call. Possesses proficient clinical skills and serves as a resource to nursing staff, physicians, and the public. Coordinates and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate appropriate and efficient patient placement. Makes administrative decisions (in consultation with administrator on call, as needed) in regard to potential or actual problematic situations involving the hospital. May be responsible to coordinate patient care resources. Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing and demonstrate the ability to resolve problems in an efficient and caring manner. Exercise leadership skills through effective work coordination, management of resources, and participation in goal accomplishment. Minimum Requirements
BSN from an accredited school At least two years of RN experience At least one year of nursing leadership experience Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire De-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire Benefits
