Overview
Fuels Laboratory Technician/Fuels Distribution System Operator (FDSO) at Tunista Services, Inc. Location: Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with some evenings and weekends. Responsibilities
Dispense aviation and ground fuel as directed by resource control center. Refuel and defuel transient aircraft and organizational support fuel tanks. Operate 5,000- and 1,000-gallon refueling fuel servicing vehicles. Comply with all technical and safety procedures related to fuel handling operations. Document fuel products received and dispensed using applicable forms. Monitor fueling equipment for abnormal conditions during servicing operations. Document discrepancies on inspection forms and report to the preventive maintenance supervisor. Assist with vehicle checkpoint operations and perform first echelon preventive maintenance. Perform daily corrosion control on the refueling fleet. Ensure quality control of fuel received, stored, and issued at Gila Bend AFAF. Obtain and test fuel samples in accordance with 42B-1-1 (qualified personnel only). Assist in training newly assigned personnel. Ensure compliance with environmental, occupational safety, and security programs. Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of prior experience in a fuels aviation field. Ability to work for extended periods in the local outdoor environment. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Preferred Requirements
Successfully completed the formal Fuels Quality Control course; the original Air Force Quality Control course (J3AZR2F051-001) or civilian equivalent for laboratory. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, and customers. Other Essential Requirements
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to read and interpret general and governmental instructions/regulations. Valid Arizona Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current and valid class B driver’s license for job locality, with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements. Must possess and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
