Section Data Reviewer - Laboratory Scientist 2. This full-time position is with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), located in St. Paul. The work involves secondary data review for the Environmental Laboratory Section and support for the Quality Assurance Officer and Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) maintenance. This role supports testing related to the US EPA Safe Drinking Water Act, ISO17025 accreditation, CLIA regulations, and other relevant methods. Posting details: Date Posted 10/10/2025; Closing Date 10/23/2025. Work schedule: Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Travel: No. Salary: $28.26 - $41.43 hourly. Bargaining Unit: MAPe. FLSA: Nonexempt. Location: St. Paul, MN. Responsibilities

Manage data generated within the Environmental Laboratory Section. Assist in maintaining parts of the Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) within the Environmental Laboratory Section. Support efforts to ensure testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Participate in process improvement projects using established quality improvement principles. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related scientific field. Two (2) years of experience in laboratory evaluation and quality control and quality assurance. Experience operating and/or maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Minimum qualifications to be assessed during the interview

Ability to work independently and collaboratively to problem solve; effective communication in writing and verbally. Technical knowledge of analytical techniques being evaluated. Knowledge of environmental quality system regulations, drinking water regulations, quality control and quality assurance principles, and data reduction/reporting techniques. Ability to follow QC procedures and documented methods to ensure test accuracy. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a regulated laboratory environment. Ability to recognize problems, patterns, and trends; ability to conduct extensive research and review corrective action procedures. Physical and Other Requirements

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on an infrequent basis. Must pass a background and reference check. Under US USCIS regulations, must be able to accept work in the U.S. by start date. H-1B sponsorship is not available. How To Apply
