Overview
We are searching for a motivated veterinarian to join our highly skilled team. Our ideal candidate would be comfortable and proficient in surgery (spays, neuters, mass removals, cystotomies, exploratories) and also work up minor illness and more complicated medicine cases. We have a board certified internal medicine specialist on site for diagnostic ultrasounds and consultations. In addition, we have a skilled surgeon on site for orthopedic surgeries and other more advanced soft tissue surgeries. We encourage a culture of collaboration and work together on our cases daily. Responsibilities
Efficiently manage case-load and record keeping throughout each shift. Confidently perform surgical procedures when indicated. Lead the support staff team by your example of kindness and providing exceptional veterinary care. Qualifications
Doctorate in veterinary medicine, licensed in Florida. Excellent medical and surgical skills. Ability to provide emergency care. Excellent communication skills with both staff and clients. Ability to recognize that teamwork is essential for quality practice; ability to work as a team member as well as a doctor. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures. Ability to properly restrain patients. Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision. Demonstrated empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to outstanding client service. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, heavier objects; ability to stay on task and work energetically for the entire shift. Ability to maintain clear, accurate records and to charge clients for all products and services. Knowledge of federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and DEA, and ability to ensure hospital compliance. Ability to work well with all team members and support the hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule & Compensation
DVMs work 4 weekdays (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and rotating Saturdays (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM). Typically one Saturday shift per month. Appointments are 30 minutes with add-on urgent care and ER visits shared among the team. Two hours are blocked (12:00–2:00 PM) for lunch, callbacks, and record-keeping. Pay is Pro-Sal. Base salary starting at 120,000 USD annually (higher for more experienced DVMs) with potential to produce 180,000 USD.
