The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking multiple post-doctoral associates to join the laboratory of Dr Jun Wang within the Department of Medicinal Chemistry on or about September 1, 2022. Design retro-synthesis routes for screening hits and perform structure-activity relationship studies. Optimize the in vitro and in vivo pharmacokinetic properties of lead compounds. Interpret structure-activity relationship and structure-property relationship results and design corresponding optimization strategies. Participate in and present results and literature in group meetings and department seminars. Write manuscripts for publication and present results in conferences. Conduct literature search skills, and have the ability to design and improve synthetic routes to support SAR studies and deliver compounds in large scale in a timely manner. Perform molecular modeling including docking is a plus. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A Ph.D. in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or a similar science field is required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Candidates must be able to design retro-synthesis routes for screening hits and perform SAR studies; optimize PK properties; interpret SAR and SPR results; communicate results effectively; maintain excellent documentation; and deliver compounds in a timely manner. Excellent verbal and writing skills are a plus. Ability to search the literature and design/improve synthetic routes to support SAR studies and deliver compounds at scale. Familiarity with molecular modeling and docking is a plus. Benefits
