Experienced or Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer
to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in
Oklahoma City, OK . A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), Bombers, or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fuels system of the E-7A, providing expertise in the design and sustainment. Position Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of E-7A design and engineering principles to assess and resolve operational issues through the aircraft’s lifecycle. Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness. Support the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and direct the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Support system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Train others. Work under general direction. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences). Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels, Hydraulic Systems and/or Flight Controls. Able to create, execute, review, and manage structural design models. 5+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables. 5+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. 5+ years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX). Preferred Qualifications
Active U.S. Secret Clearance. Experience validating or verifying Hydraulic Systems, Fuel Systems, Flight Controls, Actuation and Controls. Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills. Experience with analytical problem‑solving skills. Additional Information
100% onsite at Oklahoma City, OK. 1st shift position. Requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (interim/ final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start). Relocation based on eligibility. Drug‑free workplace. Applications accepted until Oct 25, 2025.
