Overview
System Security Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) for The Boeing Company in Oklahoma City, OK. The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) organization is hiring a System Security Engineer for the B-1 Bomber Avionics Integrated Support Facility (AISF) to join the Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma location. The AISF laboratory maintains, configures and upgrades avionics hardware and special test equipment used to support development and testing of operational flight software. The primary task involves supporting lab system security domains including information assurance, anti-tamper, intrusion detection, software protection, communications security, network security and laboratory security functions. Ensure compliance with the Boeing Security Manual as contract authorized by the DoD National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements. Provide updates and coordinate approvals to the System Security Plan (SSP). Supports Risk Management Framework (RMF) to obtain and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) for laboratory systems. Tasks include maintaining lab hardware and software baseline and utilizing the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Tools to evaluate and adjust lab computer system security settings. Support cyber vulnerability scan events. Coordinates and validates lab access to resident users and visitors. Participates in security assessments and audits. This position also supports the engineering design team with laboratory upgrades, modifications, procurement and assembly oversight. Develop and support the generation of hardware modification and configuration planning for RMF changes. Perform test line and test equipment security classification upgrades and downgrades. Support systems and software engineers in the lab environment, troubleshooting basic laboratory and test-related problems. Position Responsibilities
Assists with the development and deployment of cybersecurity controls for assigned systems Participates and supports in cybersecurity assessments and audits both in terms of controls and risks Provides technical support on information system upgrades and supplier procurement activities Collaborate with the development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects Assist subject matter expert in software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations Track and manage hardware and software inventories for all lab Windows and UNIX/Linux systems Collect and submit documentation and status updates on Infrastructure and Networks Monitor and update system patches to mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities Support updating the system/network topology diagrams Track and update documentation for new, removed, and updated hardware and software components Collect and provide artifacts to Product Support Engineering team to maintain the lab Authority to Operate (ATO) Work under general supervision Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science At minimum DoD 8570 IAM Level I Security+ 2+ years of experience with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)/RMF and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 requirements 2+ years of experience with designing networks and creating network and data flow diagrams using Visio or similar tools 2+ years of experience with performing system administrator functions for servers, workstations, and storage appliances 2+ years of experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining security appliances and tools systems within a Microsoft Active Directory environment 2+ years of experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining group policy objects within a Microsoft Active Directory environment Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows development environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Level 3: 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with using PowerShell Experience with deploying and managing virtual environments such as VMware vSphere Experience with scripting and automating regular system administrative tasks Experience with simulation systems used to test avionics software Experience with CATIA V5 drafting tools is desirable Details
