As a Chemical Production Engineer, you play a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities essential for manufacturing operations. Your efforts ensure the safe, efficient, productive, and environmentally sound production of active ingredients or intermediates. This position is locally scoped and integral to maintaining operational excellence within our manufacturing site. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide chemical engineering support for production; Support loading and unloading operations for hazardous materials, ensuring proper management to maintain site freedom to operate; Conduct process control auditing on performance metrics and offer troubleshooting support to production personnel to address issues impacting safety, raw material yields, capacity, and product quality; Create and maintain process, safety, and environmental documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating instructions, and management of change (MOC) forms; Assist manufacturing leadership in identifying and leading improvements related to raw material yields, capacity, energy, quality, product safety, and the environment; Participate actively in the Global GI Optimization Team to enhance safety, environmental, and production performance; Manage direction and results of GI plant projects with significant impact, providing focus and leadership; Serve as a mentor to less experienced team engineers and technicians; Participate as a leader and champion of plant and site teams, including safety, optimization, and World Class Maintenance (WCM); Monitor ongoing environmental performance of the plant to ensure regulatory compliance; Support plant leadership in overseeing start-up and shutdown for major events and provide on-call plant support. Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering; Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a diverse team composed of fellow engineers, operations personnel, maintenance personnel, and leadership; Strong communication skills, both oral and written; Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; Ability to challenge the status quo to achieve better results for the business; Capability to work on and balance multiple assignments and priorities; Must be able to perform work in a manufacturing plant environment, including ascending/descending stairs and ladders; Computer proficiency in Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Strong safety ethic. Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of work experience, preferably in a plant operation function, or a Master's of Science with 0-2 years of engineering experience. Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $77,656.50 - $116,485.20.
