Field Supervisor Responsibilities The Field Supervisor (FS) supervises field operations teams (GDI and subcontractors), reviewing project schedules, training installers, monitoring work progress, expenses, field measures, permits, starting and finishing jobs, completing service calls, and meeting with customers.
Maintain branch quality standards
Measure jobs
Check jobs for potential installation problems prior to job start
Review concerns with Installation Supervisor and Regional Operations Manager
Review contract with customer
Diagnose and/or perform service work
Install jobs as needed
Employee and subcontractor training
Ensure crews know job details and have loaded proper materials and equipment on the truck
Oversee performance of Lead Installers and Apprentices and train them on proper procedures
Obtain building permits as required
Review schedule with Installation Supervisor
Other duties may be assigned
Performance Expectations
Revenue projections of branch
90‑day branch quality target
Project timelines as defined by GDI budgeting process
Customer service surveys with a top score of 90% or better
Training metrics
Apprentice to Installer transition within 3 months of hire
Installer to Lead Installer transition within 9 months of hire
Subcontractor for installation onboarding within 3 months of hire
Online reviews from at least 30% of installed jobs
Qualifications Applicant must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction field operations, with a focus on sunrooms, doors, and windows. Must understand all product lines and know how to diagnose and correct service problems. Good problem‑solving skills, competency in technology, strong organization, and the ability to think on your feet are required. Proactive management of customer, employee, and subcontractor interactions is essential.
