iFixit is the nexus of a global community showing people how to fix the things they own. We believe that we can make the world better by empowering people to take control of the things they own. We are the world's foremost experts in repair, and we've set the gold-standard for online repair documentation. Every day we help thousands of people fix their stuff, and we’re on a mission to help millions more. iFixit’s Expansion to Chattanooga:

Our roots are in the California technology startup world, but our passion is tinkering. We are thrilled to be joining the making and manufacturing culture of Tennessee. We have moved into our eastern distribution hub and headquarters in a 50,000 square foot flagship location near downtown in the Onion Bottom neighborhood on 12th Street. Read more about our plans. We are hiring for an Assembly Lead who will oversee the team responsible for ensuring that Fix Kits and other internally assembled products are stocked in a timely manner to maintain adequate inventory levels for our customers. This role also includes managing the inspection, packaging, labeling, and stocking of a variety of tools and components that fall outside the scope of the Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will help coordinate workflows, maintain production efficiency, and ensure that every product leaving the assembly area meets iFixit’s high standards for quality and presentation. Job Responsibilities Oversee daily Assembly operations to ensure Fix Kits and other products are assembled, inspected, packaged, and stocked according to company standards and production goals. Prioritize, assign, and monitor assembly tasks to maintain adequate inventory levels and prevent stockouts. Ensure all team members follow proper safety procedures, particularly when handling batteries or other regulated materials. Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the assembly process; identify and address process inefficiencies or quality concerns. Collaborate with the Shipping, Quality Assurance, Product Development, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment on product standards, packaging, and inventory flow. Create and manage assembly work orders based on demand forecasts and available resources. Monitor products on unreceived purchase orders and their expected arrival dates. Identify physically received shipments and match them to purchase orders in the system. Track and analyze performance metrics to assess productivity, quality, and process effectiveness; implement improvements where needed. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to Assembly team members; participate in hiring and performance review processes. Provide feedback on inbound materials to suppliers and partners in order to improve upstream processes and overall supply chain efficiency. Maintain an organized and safe workspace while upholding iFixit’s commitment to quality and efficiency. Job Requirements Prior experience in an assembly, production, or inventory operations environment; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong understanding of assembly, packaging, and quality control processes. Proven ability to manage priorities, delegate tasks, and meet production goals in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and communicate product discrepancies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Availability to work 40 hours a week Monday - Friday. Effectively communicate and work in a team environment. Experience with computers and inventory management software. Previous warehouse experience including shipping and usage of RF guns is beneficial. Diversity Statement:
