Base pay range
$100,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Review and analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment
Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects ranging from [insert project size/type]
Utilize estimating software and databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Create and maintain historical cost data and pricing databases
Project Planning & Coordination
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather project information
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability issues
Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation within specified timeframes
Process Improvement
Contribute to refining our estimating processes and procedures
Implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market conditions
Participate in post-project reviews to validate estimates and improve future accuracy
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, OR
Minimum 3-5 years of construction estimating experience
Proven track record of preparing accurate estimates for similar project types
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database management
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
Core Competencies
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and presentation abilities
Time management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Problem-solving mindset with focus on continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications (e.g., AACE, ASPE)
