The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Summary The Coordinator assures the quality of food is served according to the correct standards for accuracy of diet, portion control, garnish and temperature. Assists in assuring the correct operation of the assembly line and checking patient meal trays accurately. Correctly assembles and distributes tube feedings and specialized nourishments using sanitary techniques. Assists the department in all clerical functions for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selections. Maintains the Room Service computer system so that patient files are updated with appropriate dietary information according to physician order. Demonstrates skills necessary to coordinate menu selections for pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. The Coordinator carries out the principles of positive guest relations by demonstrating the ability to solve customer problems and treating all customers with dignity and respect.
Interrelationships Frequent contact with Food & Nutrition staff members, patients, visitors and nurses,
Occasional contact with other hospital supervisors, physicians and representatives from the New Jersey Department of Health and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals,
Qualifications Required:
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Two years of experience in a hospital Food Service Department
Preferred:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Supervisory experience
Hours Full-Time
6am - 2:30 pm, 7 am - 3:30 pm
Every other weekend, holiday rotation
