Overview

CT Technologist 1 - WOW role at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. The CT Tech 1 arranges patients for Computed Tomography examinations. Produces CT images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screens patients for safe administration of contrast media. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Initially, may require instruction and guidance to accomplish the job and should develop into performing work under general supervision. Responsibilities

Clinical skills: Apply radiologic principles and theory, anatomy and pathology to select the most appropriate technique and/or position for optimal examinations; demonstrate results through exam outcomes. Policies and protocols adherence: Follow department policies to optimize examinations for interpretation. Education: Teach radiography principles to radiography students as required by the organization. Patient/General Safety: Obtain clinical history and informed consent; explain procedures to patients and families; ease anxiety and promote cooperation; assist physicians in performing examinations using standard protocols and sterile technique when needed; identify and resolve clinical or emergent issues to achieve desirable outcomes; monitor patient safety and report any adverse conditions. Communication and documentation: Identify patients and files accurately; track patients per department procedures; participate in department performance improvement initiatives and meetings. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean environment; operate imaging equipment per manufacturer specifications; perform daily calibration and adjustments; troubleshoot and report equipment issues; recognize routine maintenance needs to maintain image quality. Radiation Safety: Ensure accurate patient identification and tracking; apply department procedures to minimize exposure and support radiation safety efforts. Other duties: Act as a backup for other technologists and complete additional duties within the required time frame as assigned by managers/supervisors. Qualifications

Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program. Good interpersonal/human relations skills; effective oral and written communication; strong teamwork, critical thinking/decision making, and organizational skills. License & Certification: Current State License, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R) or Registry Eligible or current temporary license; Basic Life Support (BLS - Healthcare Provider).
