Coordinates plan of care with the health care team. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to prepare and assist them with their responsibilities. Ensures completion of unit competency assessments, annual safety review, CPR, and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy. The Registered Nurse may be assigned other duties as needed. Note: Seeks to meet the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy and nursing process to manage quality patient care. Job Requirements
Minimum Required Registered Nurse Graduate with 6 months to one (1) year of work experience. Current California Registered Nurse license or interim permit. Current BLS - AHA or within 30 days of hire. Ability to work within a team model of patient-care delivery. Proficient basic nursing skills and specialty skills. Knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply these principles appropriately. Caring, compassionate attitude toward others; empathetic and tactful with patients/visitors. Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently; clear, effective written and oral English skills; active listening skills. Ability to delegate appropriate patient care tasks to other team members. Willingness to participate in process improvement activities. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others across all departments. Remain calm and efficient in emergencies. Collaborates and provides leadership with the patient-care team. Maintains effective relationships with coworkers and medical staff. Preferred: PICC/midline insertion. Note: Location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. Where You'll Work
