In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Registered Nurse manages quality patient care through the nursing process. Coordinates plan of care with the health care team. Assumes leadership role for unit personnel to prepare and assist them with their responsibilities. Responsible for completion of unit competency assessments, annual safety review, CPR, and renewal of license by maintaining continuing education units as required by hospital policy. Must successfully pass clinical math exam prior to orientation to unit. In addition to these major responsibilities, the Registered Nurse may be assigned other duties. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Registered Nurse's without previous Emergency Department experience and new graduates will be considered on an individual basis provided they successfully complete the Emergency Department Orientation and Training program. Current California Registered Nurse license or interim permit. Current approved health care provider CPR - BLS certification. ACLS Certification (may be obtained within 30 days of hire). PALS Certification (may be obtained within 30 days of hire). Preferred Qualifications
Previous Emergency Department experience preferred. TNCC preferred. Note: This location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through internal facility resources; outside RQI resources are not acceptable for compliance requirements. Overview (continued)
