In keeping with the Dignity Health healthcare philosophy, the Ultrasound Technologist performs cardiovascular procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient, operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images, provides and confirms proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease. Responsibilities
Perform cardiovascular ultrasound procedures at a technically proficient level. Position and instruct patients; operate ultrasound equipment; determine technical factors for procedures. Ensure correct marking/labeling of images and proper/documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Maintain technical proficiency across a variety of ultrasound procedures. Training staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Demonstrate ingenuity and initiative in the diagnosis and therapy of disease. Qualifications
Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an acute facility if not RDMS. Entry level for RDMS 0-3 years experience. Demonstrates knowledge in general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. Working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures. Familiarity with departmental protocols and procedures. Ability to work tactfully and effectively with staff, physicians, and patients. Effective oral and written communication; self-motivated with good organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Current RDMS or RDMS eligible; ECE to maintain certification; current BLS CPR card. Where You'll Work
