Overview We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a part-time or per diem basis during weekends. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering psychiatric care to hospitalized patients, working closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Provide medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications as necessary. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to support patients’ mental health needs. Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing evaluation and interventions. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care. Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and promptly in compliance with facility policies. Stay informed of advancements in psychiatric care to enhance clinical skills and patient treatment approaches. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in New Jersey. Board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is highly preferred. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and patient-centered care. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards in practice.
