Overview
The
Multi-Modality Technologist
is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care in the assigned departments and throughout the organization. These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned. Responsibilities
Produce high quality scans/images using proper positioning and technique. Show proficiency in 2 or more Radiology sections. Work closely with the Radiology Nurse, Radiologist and Neuro interventionist. Utilize assigned functions within the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions. Review patient’s chart for information of physician’s orders and follow written and/or verbal protocols and instructions. Work closely with the Radiology Nurse, Radiologist and Neuro interventionist performing procedures. Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to the appropriate Lead. Utilize hospital computer systems to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and credits. Educate patients, and families as requested, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome. Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel. Follow department, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure “ALARA”. Follow ACR Guidelines to maintain ACR Accreditation. Adhere to the Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties. Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to others in adherence of the hospital\'s philosophy and policy for promoting positive work and customer environments. Work as a team to continuously improve work quality. Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work schedules when it is necessary to ensure patient care. Present self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette. Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services. Reporting and Conditions
Reports to: Radiology Supervisor, though may also be assigned work from the Radiologist, Neuro Interventionist, Director of Radiology Services, Clinical Leads and Clinical Coordinator. Qualifications
Minimum Required Education : Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program Experience : 5 years as a registered technologist Applicants must be ARRT registered and BLS Certified upon hire Equal Opportunity Employer
