Job Summary:
Under general supervision performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation and archiving of digital radiography images. Is responsible for the care of the patient while in the radiology department. Also, performs daily start-up activities, maintenance and quality control. Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs daily start up and QA procedures Maintains exam room in safe and orderly manner Ensure that all radiation protective equipment is in working order Report equipment malfunctions to managing technologist Maintains appropriate positioning protocol manual and updates manual as required. Uses appropriate exposure factors for patients. Uses proper protective equipment whenever necessary. Positions patient properly and selects the appropriate exposure factors to obtain high quality radiographs. Reviews all diagnostic imaging request for appropriateness based on the clinical history provided. Assures the diagnostic quality is up to the radiologist standards prior to submission for interpretation. Obtains images, produces film when required and transfers images to proper storage media. Makes proper introduction to patient, explains examination and answers all questions prior to beginning examination. Maintains technologist and radiologist film badge account. Conforms to all OSHA and Infection control standards. Practices universal precautions with all patients. Trains and assist staff technologist in the proper use of the digital room when needed. Performs any job related function that advances the mission of MRI & CT Diagnostics. Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology Experience:
Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicants must be ARRT registered or registry eligible; applicants who are registry eligible must be registered within three months of employment. Must be BLS certified. Qualifications
