The Certified School Nurse (CSN) identifies and treatshealth conditions among students in the school setting. The CSN providesinstruction for the student’s general wellbeing and disease prevention. TheCertified School Nurse must assess the student’s physical condition in theschool setting and refer the student to appropriate resources as needed to besuccessful in school.
Minimum Requirements
Current nursing license for the state in which the nursepractices Certification or Credential in school nursing, required One year prior school nursing experience required Pediatric experience, preferred Current CPR if applicable TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Must be at least 18 years of age BSN
Position for a RN who would be working from 8-3 pm,M-F. This person would oversee supervising LVNs at their sites, doingfirst, writing medical plans for students, attending IEP, 504 meetings (so aschool credentialed RN would be best) and nurse team meetings. Thisperson would be at three sites: Hoover, Orion and Henry Ford. Bilingualis a plus.
