Nurse Clinician III (RN) – Transplant Unit UTMB Health – Galveston, TX Overview

Competent clinician with specialty in transplant nursing practicing at an advanced level. Provides patient care, coordination, education, and leadership in alignment with Texas Nurse Practice Act and UTMB strategic goals. Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents daily care of assigned patients. Identifies nursing diagnoses and develops individualized care plans. Executes physician orders, administers medications, and delivers culturally congruent, specialty‑appropriated care in accordance with UTMB policies and standards. Performs routine technical procedures/skills in transplant specialty area. Provides patient/family instruction and health promotion using teach‑back and evidence‑based resources. Plans, coordinates, and prioritizes patient care activities according to skill level and work complexity. Maintains safety and continuity of care using bedside shift report, hand‑off tools, inter‑disciplinary rounding. Delegates appropriately, seeking guidance when needed, and demonstrates competent use of technology in patient care delivery. Identifies ethical situations, seeks assistance, and delivers culturally sensitive care. Supports healthy work environment through respectful communication and collaborative teamwork. Recognizes unit and institutional strategic initiatives and promotes financial responsibility. Participates in unit meetings, quality improvement activities, in‑services, and evidence‑based practice projects. Completes required competency‑based orientation tools and self‑evaluation tools, performs POCT, maintains aseptic technique and infection control measures, and documents accurately. Qualifications

RN license in Texas with two years of clinical RN experience. Current BLS certification required. Salary
