Senior Medical Lab Technician / Medical Technologist – Generalist

100% FTE, night shift. You may be eligible for up to a $3,000 sign-on bonus for a Senior Medical Lab Technician position or a $4,000 sign-on bonus for a Medical Technologist position. You will work at the East Madison Hospital in Clinical Labs. Pay:
The pay range listed reflects both titles. You may be eligible for the sign-on bonus amounts listed above. Responsibilities
Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity). Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution. Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed. Work as an effective team member with physicians, clinic staff and co-workers. What you will do at UW Health
Perform moderate and/or high complexity patient testing in the clinical laboratory. Education
Minimum
– Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, or education and training equivalent to an associate degree including 60 semester hours with either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses. Preferred
– Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, including 60 semester hours that include 24 hours of medical laboratory technology or 24 hours distributed across chemistry/biology as specified. Work Experience
Senior Medical Laboratory Technician
– One (1) year of experience performing moderate and some high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory with competency assessment; or two (2) years in a clinical laboratory. Medical Technologist
– no minimum work experience needed. Licenses & Certifications
Certification (Medical Lab Science, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency (Preferred). Additional Information
