Ultrasound Sonographer, Inpatient, 10K Bonus
Job Summary: Works under minimal supervision with the physicians to perform ultrasound imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
Perform ultrasound imaging exams according to protocol.
Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance; report issues as needed.
Maintain clean and prepared work area; manage department workload fairly.
Assist in training students and new staff; participate in QA/QC and regulatory compliance.
Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education; complete required modules on time.
Collaborate with staff to ensure timely exams and accurate patient identification and documentation.
Adhere to dress code, attendance policies, and safety practices; may assume supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Patient Interaction
Verify patient identification and obtain proper consent and preparation; explain tests to patients and families as appropriate.
Assess patient tolerance and communicate test specifics clearly and professionally.
Provide care for patients across age groups relevant to the department (neonatal to geriatric).
Exam Performance
Conduct color duplex imaging (carotid, extremity venous/arterial, abdominal Doppler, small parts, OB/GYN, etc.).
Ensure high-quality studies, proper labeling, and complete documentation; forward to radiologist in a timely manner.
Administer contrast as appropriate and monitor for adverse reactions.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's Degree in Ultrasound Technology or equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications: ARDMS and RVT required; BLS certification per AHA/ARC; must obtain RVT within 6 months if not currently certified.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; 2 years of ultrasound experience.
Shift Sun-Tue and Fri, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
