Responsibilities
Perform ultrasound imaging exams, determine exam protocols, ensure accreditation, manage operations, and facilitate equipment maintenance with physicians. Maintain a clean and orderly work area; ensure proper supply levels for procedures; monitor equipment and coordinate repairs; respond to inquiries in a timely manner; communicate equipment or exam issues with appropriate staff; participate in equitable workload distribution; participate in training of new staff and students; perform quality control on equipment; attend departmental meetings/classes; complete required courses/modules on time; adhere to time, attendance, and dress code policies; may assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor; participate in regulatory compliance activities. Patient Interaction: Verify patient identification; communicate clearly and professionally; ensure proper patient preparation; verify screening protocols; explain tests to patients and/or families; assess patient tolerance; maintain age-specific care knowledge (newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, geriatric). Exam Performance: Perform color duplex imaging procedures (carotid, extremity venous and arterial, abdominal Doppler, small parts, OB/GYN, general abdominal/body or other assigned tests); ensure high-quality imaging and timely documentation; assist physicians as needed; ensure proper labeling and patient data on images; perform exam charges and document findings; administer contrast as appropriate and monitor for adverse reactions. Job Performance: Monitor and train students; assist in orientation of new staff; participate in QA/QC programs and accreditation processes; organize and participate in conferences and meetings; arrange for equipment maintenance to minimize downtime; perform other duties as assigned. Security and Compliance: Adhere to all security, EEO, and regulatory requirements as described. Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Technology or equivalent Licenses and Certifications: ARDMS and/or RVT; BLS from AHA or ARC; must obtain RVT certification within 6 months if not currently certified; compliant by first day of employment or termination if not achieved within 180 days. Preferred
Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 2 years in ultrasound Shift
