Overview

The Platform Engineering & Emerging Technology (PEET) Amazon Dedicated Cloud team is hiring for a System Development Engineer to support CloudTrail, AWS Config and other AWS services. You\'ll design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers\' and our team\'s workloads. This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them. The PEET team supports the operations of CloudTrail, AWS Config, and other AWS services in ADC regions and builds services in new ADC regions and features. This role will also support our development team, which creates solutions to solve ADC builder and customer pain points. We seek a talented engineer skilled in integration, who understands Agile and DevOps philosophies and is willing to decompose and reinvent systems, processes, and tools. This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Key job responsibilities Key responsibilities

Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and systems to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers\' and our team\'s workloads. This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week in every eight. We work to ensure fault tolerance and resolve root causes so we don\'t get paged for the same issue twice. A day in the life You\’ll roughly spend 50% of your time operating production systems and 50% making long-term improvements to the reliability, availability, and performance of those software systems. An example week could include root-causing deployment issues, implementing fixes, and designing solutions to improve automation and testing. About the team
