Imagine waking up in a hotel anywhere in the world. Today is the day you've been preparing for months: the customer acceptance test. Your journey begins at the office, gathering relevant documents, drawings, and developing software and configuration files. The on-site phase has been intense but rewarding, as you've integrated the sorter into the customer's solution, including I/O checks, PLC commissioning, parameter tuning, interfacing with systems, and optimizing FSC. Your analytical skills and teamwork have helped overcome challenges. You execute test cases according to the protocol, ensuring the system meets requirements. You celebrate the successful integration with your team and prepare for the final support phase during initial operation. Responsibilities:

As a Controls Engineer for loop sorters, you will be responsible for commissioning our systems at customer sites. Your main tasks include configuring and commissioning the Vanderlande FSC (Flow Systems Controller) system, which builds automatic sortation systems. This involves working with industrial computers, programmable controllers (Siemens PLC), industrial networks (Profinet/AS-I/Industrial Ethernet), motor controllers, sensors, and other equipment. You will describe and commission interfaces with system components, and after in-house engineering, travel to the customer site for system commissioning. Your duties include electrical and mechanical setup, interfacing with peripherals like barcode scanners, fine-tuning software configurations, and ensuring system operation. You will collaborate closely with on-site teams, troubleshoot issues, analyze data, and ensure subsystem and system acceptance tests are passed. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology Willingness to travel 80% routinely Strong problem-solving and research skills Logical mindset, with understanding of Engineering Science: Logic & Programming Solid networking principles and hardware setup knowledge Project scheduling awareness Ability to troubleshoot network communication and electrical issues on conveyor systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Familiarity with industrial automation hardware such as field bus systems, sensors, Profinet, Siemens S7 (Safety), and frequency controllers Technical knowledge and analytical skills to address multidisciplinary challenges Self-reliant, proactive, and practically oriented Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb a 2-story ladder Ability to walk a mile in 20 minutes Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Capable of working 10 hours standing, sitting, walking, or climbing stairs Comfortable working in office and factory environments
