Fuel Handling Resident Engineer TerraPower, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Fuel Handling Engineer to provide oversight and coordination of equipment supplier Teledyne Brown Engineering on-site in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will create and review design solutions for fuel handling equipment, structures, and systems for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor. Candidates must have extensive experience in system and equipment design and qualification. Experience in system and equipment operation, maintenance, and fabrication is also valued. This role will report to a Fuel Handling System Manager and will join the Natrium Fuel Handling Team. This role will work as part of a high functioning team of engineers and scientists focused on developing the design of next generation advanced nuclear reactors and associated fuel handling equipment. Responsibilities

Oversight of supplier design and delivery of nuclear fuel handling systems and equipment from requirements through final design and delivery of equipment to site. Support design, fabrication, construction, and testing of systems and equipment. Coordinate and oversee design and fabrication work by suppliers, including regular on-site support at Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville, AL. Develop system and equipment design products such as 3D CAD models, calculations, requirements, system design descriptions, and interface control documents. Identify and ensure effective application of design codes such as ASME, ANS, ASTM, ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, and regulatory requirements. Present designs or participate in design reviews. Propose and define testing programs. Provide support and oversight during test execution, evaluation of test results, and reporting of test results. Key Qualifications

Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Other engineering disciplines may be considered if the candidate has relevant experience. M.S. and Doctorate degrees may be credited for up to two and four years of experience respectively. A minimum of ten years of mechanical design experience is required. Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills. Acknowledges the importance of trust, integrity, open communication, teamwork. Experience in the nuclear industry with ASME NQA-1 quality program is preferred. Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III or Section VIII is a plus. Job Functions

Salary Range Level 12: $142,735 - $197,790 Salary Range Level 13: $163,126 - $234,493 *Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Alabama State.
