Overview
Pregis New Product Development (NPD), based in Aurora, IL, is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop solutions that will be a driving force in the growth of the company.
Base Pay Range USD $100,000.00 / year – $120,000.00 / year
Responsibilities
Design and develop electromechanical automation products in a collaborative environment
Effectively manage internal and external engineering resources in the execution of development projects
Manage vendors for mechanical, PCB, controls, and industrial design
Establish and maintain project objectives, reporting, budget and timing throughout the Stage Gate process
Personally develop physical prototypes and proof of concept hardware setups
Manage vendors for fabrication and other prototyping services as needed
Design and detail (when needed) in SolidWorks
Build and maintain BOMs and estimated production costs throughout development
Lead projects through commercialization, including handoff to production, service, marketing and sales
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
5+ years in project management
4+ years in automation and/or controls
Solid modeling and detailing (SolidWorks preferred)
Design for Manufacturability
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication, presentation and organizational skillset required
Compensation & Benefits The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis’ total compensation package.
