JOB SUMMARY Responsible for coordinating unit-based education for UT Southwestern professional clinical staff and unlicensed assistive personnel regarding orientation and clinical education to ensure staff demonstrate current competencies and meet professional standards within an assigned area. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing with licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. Experience:

At least 2 years of recent clinical specialty work. Licenses and Certifications:

RN licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for Texas and BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC). JOB DUTIES Provides orientation, ongoing education, and skills training for staff, including new hires and agency staff. Offers real-time input and just-in-time training on clinical practice. Acts as a clinical expert and role model in applying nursing processes and evidence-based practices for complex patient care. Facilitates preceptor training, resident assignment, and preceptor competencies for the unit. Assists in initial and annual competency assessments for staff. Performs annual educational gap analysis and needs assessment. Mentors nurse and patient care technician residents, supporting their professional growth. Collaborates with clinical leaders to identify and prioritize departmental goals. Provides educational programs both formally and informally. Performs biweekly staffing shifts on the assigned unit.
