Overview
Engineer - Facilities & Engineering - Full-time (Harrahs LV) at Caesars Entertainment. This position works under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, Shift Supervisor, or lead engineer. The role involves making needed repairs to maintain property operation and responding to guest complaints promptly to avoid inconvenience. It requires familiarity with operation and maintenance of water heaters, pumps, and plumbing, and performing repairs, maintenance, and parts replacement for preventative maintenance to ensure equipment longevity. You will continually assess the preventative maintenance schedule to maximize longevity, reduce downtime, ease of operation, and efficiency in line with manufacturer recommendations. You should become familiar with Local, State, NEC standards and apply them as appropriate. You will install new equipment and systems as directed and perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment. You may train lesser-trained personnel in electrical equipment and systems, maintain tools and equipment, and ensure compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. You will develop positive working relationships with internal guests through open communication and timely, accurate job completion. Minimal absenteeism and tardiness are expected.
Primary Responsibilities
Repair and maintain building operation; respond to guest complaints promptly and efficiently. Operate and repair water heaters, pumps, and plumbing; perform repairs, maintenance, and parts replacement for preventative maintenance. Record pertinent data and continually assess preventative maintenance to maximize equipment longevity and reduce downtime. Install new equipment and systems as directed; perform weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual preventative maintenance. Train lesser-trained personnel in building electrical equipment and systems. Maintain tools and maintenance equipment; adhere to all rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Develop positive working relationships with internal guests and ensure timely, accurate job completion.
Secondary Job Functions
Interact with outside contractors and vendors as required. Formulate Bill of Materials to accomplish tasks. Prepare to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts, and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished safely and efficiently. Demonstrate understanding of Team SOPs and organizational policies. Willingness and ability to perform in leadership roles; initiative in problem solving with supervisory guidance as needed. Display good judgment and decisions in the best interest of the organization and guests. Understand the mission and operation of Engineering within the organization. Maintain a positive teamwork ethic; complete work timely, accurately, and efficiently.
Qualifications
Journeyman Engineer proficient in all listed engineering disciplines Plumbing: soft soldering, Sil Phos brazing, pipe threading machine, estimating, layout and fabrication of plumbing systems, cast iron pipe, steam and condensate systems Welding: steel, stainless steel, aluminum Electrical: low and high voltage, conduit, troubleshooting Refrigeration: low, medium and high temp, central and remote systems Central Plant: chillers, pumps, air compressors and controls Boiler Plant: steam and hot water production, pumps and controls Maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment Working knowledge of Stero, Garland, Cleveland, Gore, Hobart, Cutler and Blodgett kitchen equipment
Education
Completion and proof of technical training (QE-Qualified Employee), basic plumbing knowledge, boiler operator license, Level 3 or 4, or equivalent experience, basic electricity
Experience
Field experience – 2 years; Commercial experience – 1 ½ years; work experience on low voltage systems; field experience in repair of kitchen equipment
Abilities
Basic computer literacy with ability to input and gather data Ability to work in all climates and conditions including confined and dusty areas Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications Able to lift 75 lbs Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity Communicates effectively with two-way radio Possess a valid Nevada drivers license
